NBA 2008-09 Basketball Season Officially Opens

The NBA 2008-09 season officially begins today with three games scheduled. The Boston Celtics, winners of the 2008 NBA Finals Championship will raise their 17th championship banner and receive their NBA Finals rings tonight at BankNorth Garden before facing LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The number one drafit pick from 2007, Greg Oden, who missed the entire 2007-08 season due to injury makes hit NBA debut tonight versus Kobe Bryant and the NBA Finals runner-up Los Angeles Lakers. In other action this evening the Milwaukee Bucks visit the talented young Chicago Bulls.

Los Angeles Lakers and Other NBA Basketball Tickets On Sale

Saturday on Ticketmaster the Los Angeles Lakers will put on sale individual tickets for games for their upcoming 2008-09.  The Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, Washingotn Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks will also put their tickets on sale Saturday.

The Boston Celtics have put individual tickets for its 2008-09 NBA Season on sale this morning including a February game versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers Announce Premium Game Ticket Pricing

For the 2008-09 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers will increase basketball ticket prices for various sections of the Staples Center for what the Lakers label “premium games.”   Prices for “premium game” seats will rise a minimum of $10.  The Lakers are the latest team to copy the “premium game” increased pricing trend. 

The Lakers will put at least 1,000 tickets for each game of the 2008-09 NBA season on sale on October 4th.

The Los Angeles Lakers have labeled the followng games “Premium Games”:

Dec.  25 vs. Boston Celtics
Jan.  19 vs. Cleveland
Jan.  25 vs. San Antonio
Feb.  20 vs. New Orleans
Feb.  26 vs. Phoenix
March 15 vs. Dallas
April  3 vs. Houston
